Message from the President
The Southwestern Hills Neighborhood general meetings are well attended with 85-100 neighbors.
Speakers and Guests include personnel from Parks and Recreation, the Police Department, Public Works, the City Council, and other groups of neighborhood interest. Questions from the audience are addressed, and each person has an opportunity to be heard and involved.
We will always try to keep you informed on issues via newsletters, Facebook, postcards, or our website (swhna.com). Important issues are not individual concerns, but neighborhood concerns and we are all on the same team.
Dear Neighbor,
What a great neighborhood we live in. Southwestern Hills is a wonderful place to raise a family. We have miles of green parkways, trails, and lots of water areas for everyone to enjoy. We have changing beauty in each of the four seasons, and the unity of good neighbors. We see the majesty of wildlife every day. We are part of a wonderful city.
Our neighbors get involved in several activities throughout the year. We host school board election forums, City Council election forums, and formed focus groups regarding neighborhood and city issues. Our "Neighbors Night Out" free picnic, held every August, is attended by over 475 people at the Wakonda Christian Church location, every year. Our general neighborhood meetings are well attended with your input always welcome. You are always welcome to attend monthly Board meeting. We are proud to be one of the great neighborhoods in a great city.
We believe in neighbors helping each other and becoming a community family. I hope all of you build on that South Side Pride, it's real.
Your neighborhood Board are all volunteers that work hard for you and our neighborhood. If you have a situation and feel neighborhood support will help, we will always work toward a positive solution. Attend neighborhood meetings, stay involved and let's keep it going.
