Development in the Neighborhood
The Register recently reported about the strong
commercial development in and around our neighborhood. Nine
projects with costs in excess of $1 million were issued permits
on the south side of the city in 2007. These included the
Hy-Vee expansion, airport development, a new hotel with pool
on Fleur Drive, and Lincoln High School.Slated for construction
this year is a new business park on Park Avenue, 10 blocks
east of 63rd Street. The development will offer business owners
the opportunity to purchase their own office/warehouse condos.
Dave Fegley (Park Avenue Investments, LLC) is the developer,
and he reports that owners will enjoy five- or ten-year tax
abatement, and he is currently pre-selling units. The area
is unique in that it is located across from the proposed new
entrance to the airport and has a traffic count of approximately
28,000 vehicles per day. Dave can be reached at 208-9205.
